???????????????????????????????

Hello Lark,

The tour was all good, Steven was an excellent guide, he was so good. I hope to meet up with him next time he brings a group to Brisbane! I have some photos of him – can you forward them to him?

The Ancient City of Langzhong is a wonderful place to visit and stay in, and it was funny being the only foreigner there!

Steven took a lot of time to find the churches my grandfather was involved with, in Shunqing (now part of Nanchong) and Langzhong. The people we met were delightful, and so welcoming and interested when they learnt of my grandfather’s story and involvement with their chuches.

Some things in the tour I couldn’t manage, like lots of steps (it didn’t help that the cruise ship had no lift, so my knees were so sore after 10 days of climbing many flights of stairs just in the ship, not to mention on the day trips!)

The accommodation in Chongqing you booked for me was excellent, and very cheap.

I’d booked my own “hotel” in Langzhong, which looked much better in the photos than in reality! That was through Booking.com, and I notice it’s no longer listed there, though I didn’t contact them at all. Steven soon arranged for another hotel, 3 times the price, but 10 times better! At least the bed had a “proper” matress, not 1 cm of wadding on a wooden board!

I have attached another copy of Hedley’s letter. I’ve added the River Guide’s suggestions for the place names in red at the end.

I’m still working on the diary. I’m happy to send it in it’s entirety when I’m finished. However I was going to keep a second version with all the God references – prayer meetings, services, Bible references etc – removed! They don’t interest me at all. Which version would you prefer?
